How Our Puppy Matching Process Works

The goal of our matching process is to ensure that you will be delighted with the puppy who joins your family, not just on go-home day, but for many wonderful years to come.  Our matching process pairs each family with the puppy whose temperament, personality, and qualities are the best fit for your home and lifestyle.

Our process works like this:

• Once your reservation fee is received, we will work together with you to find a litter that is an excellent match for the preferences you've shared with us.

  
  

• When the puppies' two-week individual photos are posted on the website, we will email you a gallery of their photos, so that you can let us know if any puppies in the litter absolutely would not work for your family based on color or gender preferences. We encourage you to remain as open as possible, so that you don’t miss out on the best fit. If your preferences make a particular litter too limiting, we will work with you to find another upcoming litter that offers more options.

  
  

• Once you've officially joined a litter, we will send you an open-ended questionnaire that allows us to truly get to know your family. We'll learn about your lifestyle, activity level, home environment, previous dog experience, and anything else you'd like to share. Every detail helps us better understand what you're looking for in your future companion.

  
  

• At seven weeks of age, our amazing trainer administers the Volhard temperament test on each puppy and shares her observations based on over 35 years of experience. We combine those results with everything we've learned about both the puppies and your family to thoughtfully match you with the puppy that we believe will fulfil your dreams and make your family complete.  

  
  

• Once the matches have been finalized, we will send you an email introducing your new baby.
